Reflecting On Our Commitment to Sustainability

It’s our favorite day of the year: Earth Day. We’re excited to celebrate GoGreenRide's commitment to the environment.

GoGreenRide is committed to being environmentally responsible. Our current fleet is composed entirely of the Toyota Prius V hybrid model, which means we only produce a fraction of the carbon emissions of most car service fleets. With an estimated 42 miles per gallon, our fleet boasts an EPA smog score of eight out of ten. In addition to our hybrid cars, we go the extra mile to be completely carbon neutral with our partner, Carbon Neutral by purchasing carbon credits to offset our environmental impact. 

Via this partnership, our carbon credits help to fund the Mississippi Valley Restored EcoSystem Project. Our funds will help reforest one million acres of the Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley. The Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley was once covered by 22 million acres of dense forests, but now supports less than 20% of the original as a result of deforestation and a change to agricultural land use. However, planting trees will reduce an estimated amount of 200 tCO2 in the area, while also improving the water quality and biodiversity. Our efforts in this project will  also create revenue for low-income landowners. The water quality will also benefit because reforestation minimizes soil erosion and absorbs farm chemicals from surface runoff and groundwater.
