Give Back to your city !



This year the GoGreenRide Team encourages you all to give back to your community. Below we have rounded up some of the finest and flexible volunteer activities that you and your family can participate in or even start!

Holiday Gift Wrapping for Charity
This year, Puppetry Arts Community Arts Organization invites you to join their festive and fabulous charity by helping wrap books and gifts this holiday season. Lunch will be provided by Five Guys Burgers and veggie will be available.

Volunteers must be: 16 or older and must be willing to help 12/ 15, 12/20, 12/21 from 9am-9pm and 12/24 9am-5pm. For those busy souls who still want to be a part of the success are invited to participate at Park Slope for Shifts 9-1pm, 1pm-5pm, 5pm-9pm.

Holiday Cheer Volunteer @Hamilton-Madison House
The Hamilton-Madison House is looking for volunteers to make sure their annual holiday festival for children is amazing!

Volunteers must be: Crafty, creative, spirited and willing to dress up as elves, Santa, and create holiday decorations and craft booths that will entertain kids ages 6-10.


Volunteers are needed Dec. 21 11am-3:30pm.

Toys for Tots

The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve program invites you to help collect new, unwrapped toys during this holiday season. These toys will be distributed as Christmas gifts to children in need. New York Cares 25th Annual Coat Drive
New York Cares' annual coat drive is back and ready to make homeless and low-income families winter a little bit warmer. This holiday season donate your gently-used coats or even start your own drive through Friday, February 7. Collection sites are located all around the city in transportation hubs, police stations and at participating retail stores. Operation Santa Claus
Operation Santa Claus is the Post Office's program that allows everyone to make a child’s dream come true by answering their  'Dear Santa" letters. New York City’s program is the largest in the country, with tens of thousands of people adopting letters each year and you can become a part of the success! Pick up a letter today from the main post office at 421 Eighth Avenue (right across from Penn Station) on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9am-4pm and on Thursday 9am-7pm.

City Harvest
Every year, City Harvest feeds hungry New Yorkers through their Food Drives. This year you and your kids can help by organizing a food drive at your office, their school or your place of worship. City Harvest will provide you with the tools. Help spread the word today!

Room to Grow

Room to Grow is a organization that provides essentials for babies born to families living in poverty. This unique organization helps as much as they can by monitoring the progress of these families every three months until the child turns three. Room to Grow accepts donations of baby gear, clothing, toys and other essentials for children up to age 3. Donations can be dropped off at the Chelsea location or picked up by a messenger for a tax-deductible fee. Smaller items can also be donated through the mail.

Volunteer in Ghana over the Holidays with Cross-Cultural Solutions

For all you travelers out there, Cross-Cultural Solutions gives you the opportunity to work side-by-side with the local people of Ghana and experience another culture like never before. Together, they have helped collect over 2.5 million pairs of jeans to donate to homeless teens. This year they invite you to join them and start your own drive at your job or your child’s school.
