Give back to your Earth!

Recycling, festivals, and hikes are just a few of the events lined up for this Earth Day. There are several ways you can celebrate Earth Day and our favorite way is volunteering! We admire action and so we encourage you to get on out there and consider taking part in these great events.

Join the Green Festival team to help educate the public on how to recycle their trash. For your service you will receive free admission all weekend, 10% discount off Green America stores and the opportunity to listen into over 125 speakers and attend workshops!

This April 26 join Million Trees NYC on their to quest to reach the million mark of trees planted. With more than a thousand community volunteers and the NYC Parks Department 20,000 trees could be planted.

Shop and Plant

Join ABC Home this Earth Day by planting trees while you shop. For every in–store purchase at the 888 Broadway store, ABC will plant a tree with The Carbon Poverty Reduction Program, led by Professor Wangari Maathai’s Green Belt Movement. Shoppers will also receive a plantable bookmark, made of biodegradable eco-paper and embedded seeds, so you can make your imprint on the environment from your home.

Build a Homemade Solar Oven

Build your own solar oven out of a pizza box and actually cook food in it. You and your family could learn all the benefits of solar power firsthand while enjoying a good slice of pizza!

                                                                                                                  Take the Lead

Take the lead this year and organize a group cleanup. Your few hours spent picking up trash could help transform your favorite neighborhoods or local parks.
