Today, BookCourt, a local bookstore, will be holding a reading at 7pm in Pier 1 Granite Prospect. Marie-Helene Bertino, Scott Cheshire, Robin Elizabeth Black, Courtney Elizabeth Mauk, and Julia Fierro will kick off the fun. There will also be a Q and A and a book signing outdoors, so that you can enjoy literature and some great views of Manhattan at dusk.

NYC Poetry Festival


Saturday July 26th & Sunday July 27th

Get ready for a jam packed weekend of poetry because The New York City Poetry Festival at Governors Island is back and ready to bring New Yorkers what they love-- art, food and poetry. This year the Poetry Society of New York has organized an incredible lineup including, Mark Doty, Matthea Harvey, and Ben Lerne. We encourage you to bring a blanket, sunscreen, and water as there is no water fountains nearby. The venue opens at 11:00AM and the first act begins at 11:30AM, so to avoid lines we recommend that you arrive by 10:30AM. We truly hope that you give the Poetry Festival at Governors Island a chance!

A reminder that Governors Island is accessible by two ferries, one leaving from 10 South Street and the other leaving from Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park. We would be honored to accompany you and your guest to any of these locations!

NYC Restaurant Week has returned!





It's every New Yorker's favorite time of the year: Restaurant Week. Throughout the city, various restaurants participate in "Restaurant Week" and offer the incredible deal of a three-course lunch for $25 and a three-course dinner for $38. This year, American Express is offering New Yorkers not only a good meal but a little more weight in their pockets with a $5 credit back on your statement when you register your card in advance of dining and pay your tab with your American Express Card. With over 314 restaurants this is not an event you want to miss! Not sure where to start your search? No worries, GoGreenRide is here to help! We have compiled a list of some of the finest restaurant's participating in Restaurant Week. 

No restaurant is more personal than Alloro on the Uppper Side. Critics rave over Chef Salvatore's delicate recipes and great care of their food. Alloro is also admired for its unique menu. The menu is broken into two parts - the traditionalist and the adventurer offering customers quite an experience.

Benchmark
 Located in the heart of Brooklyn's Park Slope, Benchmark presents a New American menu focused on amazing meals with pasture-raised animals and locally grown produce.
They also include a fabulous cookie dough eggroll covered in candied walnut and stuffed with miso caramel and espresso gelato. Check out the video above for more info!

At BANN there is nothing to not like! It's amazing customer service makes for a great location and with food like, Kal Bi (braised short ribs) and marinated duck breast you will leave BANN with both incredible leftovers and incredible customer service.



Victor's Cafe brings comfortable yet sophisticated to the dinner table with it's couch style seating.  The serving staff at Victor's Cafe is extremely friendly and provides much needed help in the ordering process. Not only can you find good customer service at Victor's Cafe, you can find good food-- fried plantains, is always a great choice and their amazing sauce really makes you addicted. 


Spice up your evening with nine herb ravioli, sun dried tomato pesto and aged parmesan forth. Add a wine pairing and you may just feel transported to Southern France. Join Cafe Boulud this restaurant week for a taste of France.

Event Recap: #Summerize Beauty Event


GoGreenRide was excited to transport special guests to the #Summerize Beauty event hosted by Schweiger Dermatology. The event took place Tuesday June 25th at Schweiger Dermatology's Clear Clinic in New York City.  The night kicked off with free skin consultations by Schweiger Dermatologists. Monique Olivares described the many ways to protect your skin from the sun and gave everyone a tip on how to fight aging: Sunscreen. Jane MacKinnon, on the other hand, touched on how to keep your skin fresh and vibrant. Guests also had the opportunity to receive dry hair styling by EVA NYC and makeup touchups by Janine Just Inc. and NARS. Check out more pictures to this eventful night via this link.

Member Spotlight: Clint White


GoGreenRide loves to spotlight our members who trust us enough to get them on time to where they need to be. Clint White, for instance is constantly on the move from event to event that his Non Profit Advertising Agency has planned in order to connect life-changing content to the right audiencesHhas done incredible work with the Big Apple Circus, Amalgamated Bank, The New York Public Library, Skidmore College and many more. Today, Clint's widespread efforts and dedication have earned him the UN Social Impact Summit award for driving social change through the media.





We were lucky to have a chance to chat with WiT MEDiA's very own Clint White!


GGR:What makes WiT MEDiA different from other Advertising Agencies?
CW: WiT’s unique in that it focuses on the things in life that most of us don’t get enough of- rewarding and enriching experiences.  We strive to connect people with meaningful and life-changing content, rather than advertising stuff that you probably don’t need. We’re proud to work with clients like American Museum of Natural History, Columbia University, Rainforest Alliance, and Continuum Health Partners.  Clients who present culture and education, build communities, advocate sustainability, and leverage technology for a better world.


GGR: What past project did you enjoy working on the most? Why?
CW: We work with clients that we believe in and do great work. Each project presents its own challenges and opportunities, so we truly enjoy them all.  You may have seen one of our recent campaigns with the Arvo Pärt Project while riding the subway or walking past phone kiosks in Manhattan.  The campaign successfully connected loyal and new audiences to the extraordinary work of Pärt, and as a result, was the most well-attended classical concert at Carnegie this year.

GGR: Tell me about your favorite service experience you have had.
CW: My two kids get so excited when they’re going to be in the GGR car. It’s so much fun and they just can’t contain themselves.




GGR: You list People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel,” by Maya Angelou as your favorite quote can you tell us why?
CW: Maya’s quote speaks to the core of our business. As experiential marketers, our team focuses on emphasizing the benefits of an experience, rather than promoting the actual product.  In other words, we help people relate emotionally and inspire positive associations with our clients.


GGR: If you hadn't founded your Advertising Agency, what else might you have done?
CW: Right before I started WiT, there was a crossroads where I could have taken one direction or the other. If I had taken the other, I would have moved out of NYC and started a new life doing something completely different than advertising. I’m not entirely sure what that would have been-  something or somewhere that allows for lifestyles that aren’t available here in the city, like Hawaii.

GGR: Summer is finally here, describe the perfect summer evening in the city?
CW: The perfect summer evening involves dinner at a great restaurant with my wife, sitting outside and enjoying the views, and then having GGR to take us home when we’re satiated. Having GGR take the babysitter home perfects the night because I know she’s in good hands.
