Five Ingredients to a Successful New Year!

1. Choosing Realistic Goals

One of the biggest problems in keeping a resolution is that we simply aim too high. Therefore, for best results we should break down goals into smaller and simpler tasks. Small goals can make big changes because they are realistic. Setting a goal of completely changing your life or your career is too broad, however, trying to lose a few pounds or taking professional development courses are achievable and easier to measure.

2. Create a Schedule
Saying you'll lose weight isn't good enough but developing a weight loss plan can be. By creating specific schedule for yourself you can assign a specific task that will help you take on your goal and if you ever feel your schedule isn't working don't be afraid to change it.

3. Get ready for Setbacks
Pursuing your goal will take time and there might be a few setbacks along the way, but preparing for the unexpected will give you the upper hand when those setbacks come your way.

4. Don't do it alone
Whether with a co-worker or a friend, everyone can always use a little bit of motivation and working in groups can provide just that.

5. Ask for help
Seek advice from someone who had a similar goal like yours and achieved it. Asking for help only shows how serious you are about keeping the resolution! With these few tips, your goals can and will be reached this year!
