The 44th anniversary of Earth Day in New York City is approaching quickly and we want to help you celebrate. We have compiled just some of the various events that could help you learn how to protect the planet and embrace a greener city!

Earth Day in Union Square

The nonprofit organization Earth Day New York is headed our way to Tuesday April 21st. We encourage you to head down to Union Square to enjoy the green vehicle show, live performances, and exhibits by environmental organizations and green lovers!

Earth Day at Grand Central Terminal

Couldn't make on Earth day? No problem because the annual New York City EarthFair will be held inside Grand Central Terminal on April 23-24, 2014 in the Vanderbilt Hall. You do not want to miss the live performances, sustainability talks and more!

Green Festival

"America's Largest and Longest-Running Sustainability and Green Living Event is back and with more exhibits than ever before. At the Green Festival®, there is something for just about anyone who is interested in sustainability and a green life. Earth Day Hike with NYCParks

Enjoy the beautiful sounds of spring while you learn about the history of the environmental conservation movement on Staten Island and how it has continued to protect the Greenbelt park. Registration is highly recommended.

Event Recap: FACE Africa Gala Celebration

GoGreenRide was proud to sponsor FACE Africa's 5th annual WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Gala Celebration! The event took place at Pier Sixty in Chelsea Piers on National World Water Day and raised $150,000 to provide clean water, sanitation and support ongoing hygiene projects in sub-Saharan Africa. These earnings will benefit 30 clean water projects for FACE Africa’s County by County program. It will also ensure that 12,000 people have access to clean water.

This year’s Gala honored Nigerian entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist Tony Elumelu for his commitment to transforming Africa economically by enhancing the competitiveness and growth of the African private sector through the Tony Elumelu Foundation. FACE Africa does extraordinary work helping to fulfill the basic water needs of communities in sub-Saharan Africa. Their core mission is to grant clean water, one community at a time and GoGreenRide was so glad we could be part of the success.
