Event Recap: EcoCult

There's nothing like being part of an awesome party, so last week, GoGreenRide was the official car service provider of Ecocult's Launch Party in Williamsburg because when you have this much fun on a night out, the last thing you should worry about is getting a cab. The awesome event brought together green editors, bloggers, and fashion designers in the New York area, all enjoying an open bar provided by Prairie Organic vodka and three notable DJs–Illich Mujica (see him at Cielo, Output, Hudson Hotel), Cry Baby (Le Bain, Panther Room), and Ex Ex Ex (Le Poisson Rouge) who spun dance tracks until the wee hours. Event Recap: Go Green for Fashion - New York City 2013

On May 9th, GoGreenRide was enthused to present our services to a great, eco-conscious and fashionable crowd at the 2nd Annual Go Green for Fashion NYC event hosted at XVI, a breathtaking rooftop lounge by the Lawrence Blake Group.

The event featured a live runway presentation from some of New York’s favorite eco-friendly fashion designers including STUDY NY and Born Again Vintage. The evening recognized individuals committed to increasing awareness of and the accessibility to the benefits of eco-friendly design and production within the global fashion community. It also featured special live music performances alongside heart-warming speeches from veterans of the green fashion industry, and the entire evening is proud to have benefitted ProjectArt, an NYC-based free arts education organization that allows youth to create art without limits (). Eco-forward lifestyle brand Sprout Watches presented the first 100 guests at Go green for Fashion NYC a complimentary timepiece from their recent collection. GoGreenRide presented new members with special discounts on future rides.

Member of the Week: Lerubi Lopez

NYC is certainly a mecca for film and television production, as well as, the modeling industry. Making it here requires a tremendous amount of talent, drive, resilience and determination. GoGreenRide knows that it is critical for our members in the talent industry to get to their auditions, job sites and meetings on time, so our drivers focus on providing efficient service every time.

Lerubi Lopez, a Bronx-native and Hunter College Theater major, uses GoGreenRide to get to her auditions, as well as to navigate the city between shoots, events, and classes. Our iPad has helped her rehearse her lines and view video material while en-route to her auditions.

GoGreenRide wishes Lerubi the best of luck in her work and looks forward to help her ride along the way. She has recently appeared in Restaurant Stakeout on the Food Network, walked in a few fashion shows at the Empire Hotel with producer Eric Vega, as well as, secured a supporting role in the film 7 Diamonds with director Juan Shamsul Alam. Member of the Week: Mirsad Capric - amblist Founder

We love apps. Our GoGreenRide booking app is one of our key differentiators that helps to set us apart from other car services in the market. So, of course, we were quite enthused to have an awesome app creator ride in one of our cars. Mirsad Capric, fellow New Yorker and creator of the addictive app, amblist, is our member of the week.

The amblist app is a super cool way to keep a bucket list, of sorts, and share it with friends, all from your mobile device. You can easily create lists of trips you want to take, adventures to experience, or goals and milestones to achieve. As you check off each item, you can automatically share the progress with your social circles in Facebook and Twitter. We are obsessed! Just like the GoGreenRide app, amblist is a free app, has a clean layout, is easy to use and is a spiffy tool. You can download amblist at the App Store by clicking here.
