Member Spotlight: Kristen Siebecker

Kristen Siebecker hosts "Popping Your Cork" a recreational wine class in New York, as well as, chats about wine on her blog, winewithkristen.com. Kristen is a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Member of the Week: Joe Hubrich

Meet Joe Hubrich - Make-Up Artist Extraordinaire and one of our favorite GoGreenRide members!

Joe has worked with Bette Midler, Joely Richardson, Vanessa Redgrave, Lisa Rinna, Kelly Rutherford, the cast of Jersey Shore, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Camille Grammer, Mary Steenburgen, Brad Goreski, John Lithgow, Janice Dickenson, Elaine Stritch, Miss USA 2009 and 2010 and so many more. Joe's work has been published in Vogue, Teen Vogue, Allure, Lucky, Town & Country, Gotham Magazine, Hamptons, New York Family, Time Out New York, Fast Company, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Quest, Playbill, US, In Style and People magazines. His bright and sprite personality has captured millions on the "Housewives of Beverly Hills" and "E! News".

We had a quick chat with Joe to hear about upcoming plans and holiday recommendations for our members:

GGR:  What's your favorite thing about being a makeup artist?

JH: My favorite thing about being a makeup artist is watching the confidence boost my client gets when they getup from my chair.  Nothing better than seeing someone feel so comfortable in their skin.

GGR:  Any cool upcoming projects that you are working on?

JH: I have a couple exciting new projects coming up, one of my clients is Co-hosting a national television show & I'm the creative director on my best friend Jonathan Mendelsohns album cover that's just around the corner. 

GGR:  Favorite NYC neighborhood?

JH: My favorite NYC neighborhood is Soho.  When I first moved to NYC I would go to Soho to get inspired on everything beauty & fashion.  I still do actually, it holds a special place in my heart.

GGR: Any Halloween plans?

JH: My Halloween plans are always devoted to my friends & clients.  My phone & email are always full of everyone wanting to fulfill their fantasies.

GGR: Any cool makeup tips/trends you recommend for the upcoming holiday season?

JH: My holiday trend recommendation is add a little sparkle & a bold lip.  Find a shimmering shadow that matches your eye shadow & add it to the bottom of your inner eye.  Choose a bold lip that brings out your beautiful skin & give them something to talk about.

Member of the Week: Kahindo Mateene

New York City is in full Fashion Week mode, so we were thrilled to be able to be able to provide a relaxing ride to Kahindo Mateene, our member of the week, as she cruises the city. 

Kahindo is the creative force behind MODAHNIK, a fashion line known for its mix of vibrant colors with bold prints. Having lived and traveled in Africa, Europe and America, Kahindo expertly combines these different stylistic elements, bringing a unique point of view to her design aesthetic. A native of the The Democratic Republic of Congo, she pulls inspiration from the Avant Garde spirit of the Congolese art and culture. Her talent landed a spot as a contestant on Season 12 of Lifetime Network’s Emmy Nominated designer competition series Project Runway.

MODAHNIK will be a featured label at Harlem's Fashion Row's Pop-Up Shop on Thursday, September 5th from 8:00-11:00PM at the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel. You can rsvp attendance to check out her wonderful designs via rsvp@harlemsfashionrow.com

Member of the Week: Kerri Quigley

Kerri Quigley, graduate of Parsons School of Design and founder of The Fashion Class in New York City, is GoGreenRide's Member of the Week! The Fashion Class offers fashion classes throughout the school year and fashion camp during the summer to children ages 6-13 and teenagers ages 13-18, as well as birthday parties and small or private craft and sewing workshops. Quigley's eager and creative students learn everything from fashion design to sewing to accessory design. After students are done working on their projects, they get to take their designs home and show off their talent by wearing their garments on the streets of New York City!

Quigley loves using GoGreenRide's services to bring her students everywhere from the Punk fashion expo at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute to designer showrooms such as Alice and Olivia and Calvin Klein: "GoGreenRide has solved so many summer camp transportation issues for us. The subway is unsafe and slow, hailing a taxi is difficult; especially when you need 3+ cars and you have young children in the group, and our group is too small for a school bus. GoGreenRide's services are just perfect, plus the kids love watching cartoons on the iPads!"

Member of the Week: Dikembe Mutombo

Known on the basketball court for being one of the top post defenders of all time and known off the court for his abundance of humanitarian work, Dikembe Mutombo truly is one of the "Good Guys in Sports", as Sporting News named him in 1991 and 2000. Mutombo graduated from Georgetown University with bachelor's degrees in linguistics and diplomacy. Upon graduation, Mutombo was drafted to the Denver Nuggets where he received his first of four NBA Defensive Player of the Year Awards. As his career progressed he played for the Atlanta Hawks, Phildadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks and finally the Houston Rockets.

As a Congolese American, Mutombo started the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation to improve living conditions in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Due to his widespread humanitarian efforts, Mutombo was honored by President George W. Bush, earned the Goodermote Humanitarian Award as well as twice winning the NBA's J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award. And if that doesn't convince you of how awesome he is, his new, modern Biamba Marie Mutombo Hospital in Congo will!

Dikembe Mutombo loves GoGreenRide and finds the hybrids comfortable and roomy despite his 7 foot 2 inch frame. Thank you Dikembe for going green with GGR!

Member of the Week: Valisia LeKae

You may have seen her as Diana Ross in Motown: The Musical or you may have seen her riding around New York City in one of our GoGreenRide hybrids. Wherever you've seen her, our Member of the Week, Valisia LeKae, shines like a Broadway star. This 2013 Broadway season, Valisia received a 2013 Tony Award Nominee for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical, a 2013 Drama League Nomination for Distinguished Performance Award, a 2013 Outer Critics Circle Award Nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Musical, and was the winner of the 2013 Theater World Award.

Valisia says, "When I leave Broadway, I GoGreen!" as she hops into a GoGreenRide car outside the Lunt-Fontanne theater. LeKae has been using GoGreenRide twice a day to travel to and from her work and will continue this travel routine for the rest of the Broadway season. After a long night on the stage, Valisia likes to relax in GGR's comfortable leather seats and plug into her favorite Pandora station. Whether or not she slips into her Diana Ross character and jams to Motown tunes, only her and her driver will ever know!

Member of the Week: Daniel Boulud

Revered chefs like Daniel Boulud are why New York City is considered the food capital of the world. If you have ever been so lucky to have dined at one of his seven restaurants in New York City or had the chance to experience his food in Palm Beach, Miami, Singapore, Montréal, Toronto, London or Beijing, you understand why Boulud is one of America's most prominent culinary authorities. As long as his repertoire of restaurants is his list of accolades and achievements: Boulud has received the reputable James Beard Foundation awards, Outstanding Chef and Outstanding Restaurateur, as well as being named a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur by the French government and Chef of the Year 2011 by The Culinary Institute of America.

Daniel Boulud is not only respected for his delicious culinary expertise here at GoGreenRide, but is also appreciated as a friend and devoted supporter of our CEO, Yamandou Alexander. In 1994, Yamandou moved from France to the United States to seek new opportunities. What Yamandou found was a busboy position at one of New York City's finest restaurants owned by the one and only Daniel Boulud, Daniel. When Yamandou moved on to found ASG Telecom in 1996, Boulud was the first customer to purchase the new company's services. Boulud's loyalty has never wavered; you can find him today riding around New York City in a bright green car, once again supporting his former employee.

Member of the Week: Mike El Beta

New York City is known for its very diverse Latino community and has a bustling music scene spanning multiple genres. We caught up recently with one of our members, Mike El Beta, as he shared some of his work and collaboration with another NYC-based artist, Luno. As they rode in one of our cars, they played a few of their original songs from Mike's YouTube channel on our guest iPad.

GoGreenRide is the perfect company for New Yorkers like Mike and Luno because we offer on-demand car service at a very competitive price. Member of the Week: Lerubi Lopez

NYC is certainly a mecca for film and television production, as well as, the modeling industry. Making it here requires a tremendous amount of talent, drive, resilience and determination. GoGreenRide knows that it is critical for our members in the talent industry to get to their auditions, job sites and meetings on time, so our drivers focus on providing efficient service every time.

Lerubi Lopez, a Bronx-native and Hunter College Theater major, uses GoGreenRide to get to her auditions, as well as to navigate the city between shoots, events, and classes. Our iPad has helped her rehearse her lines and view video material while en-route to her auditions.

GoGreenRide wishes Lerubi the best of luck in her work and looks forward to help her ride along the way. She has recently appeared in Restaurant Stakeout on the Food Network, walked in a few fashion shows at the Empire Hotel with producer Eric Vega, as well as, secured a supporting role in the film 7 Diamonds with director Juan Shamsul Alam. Member of the Week: Mirsad Capric - amblist Founder

We love apps. Our GoGreenRide booking app is one of our key differentiators that helps to set us apart from other car services in the market. So, of course, we were quite enthused to have an awesome app creator ride in one of our cars. Mirsad Capric, fellow New Yorker and creator of the addictive app, amblist, is our member of the week.

The amblist app is a super cool way to keep a bucket list, of sorts, and share it with friends, all from your mobile device. You can easily create lists of trips you want to take, adventures to experience, or goals and milestones to achieve. As you check off each item, you can automatically share the progress with your social circles in Facebook and Twitter. We are obsessed!
