We had a quick chat with Joe to hear about upcoming plans and holiday recommendations for our members:

GGR:  What's your favorite thing about being a makeup artist?
JH: My favorite thing about being a makeup artist is watching the confidence boost my client gets when they getup from my chair.  Nothing better than seeing someone feel so comfortable in their skin.

GGR:  Any cool upcoming projects that you are working on?
JH: I have a couple exciting new projects coming up, one of my clients is Co-hosting a national television show & I'm the creative director on my best friend Jonathan Mendelsohns album cover that's just around the corner.

GGR:  Favorite NYC neighborhood?
JH: My favorite NYC neighborhood is Soho.  When I first moved to NYC I would go to Soho to get inspired on everything beauty & fashion.  I still do actually, it holds a special place in my heart.

GGR: Any Halloween plans?
JH: My Halloween plans are always devoted to my friends & clients.  My phone & email are always full of everyone wanting to fulfill their fantasies.

GGR: Any cool makeup tips/trends you recommend for the upcoming holiday season?
JH: My holiday trend recommendation is add a little sparkle & a bold lip.  Find a shimmering shadow that matches your eye shadow & add it to the bottom of your inner eye.  Choose a bold lip that brings out your beautiful skin & give them something to talk about.

Event Recap: EcoCult

There's nothing like being part of an awesome party, so last week, GoGreenRide was the official car service provider of Ecocult's Launch Party in Williamsburg because when you have this much fun on a night out, the last thing you should worry about is getting a cab. The awesome event brought together green editors, bloggers, and fashion designers in the New York area, all enjoying an open bar provided by Prairie Organic vodka and three notable DJs–Illich Mujica (see him at Cielo, Output, Hudson Hotel), Cry Baby (Le Bain, Panther Room), and Ex Ex Ex (Le Poisson Rouge) who spun dance tracks until the wee hours. For party pics and a full recap check out EcoCult's Post Here.

Enjoy some tunes from Cry Baby, ilich Mujica and Ex Ex Ex:

About EcoCult:

EcoCult is a curious, provocative, utterly enthusiastic view into the NYC sustainable scene. EcoCult is stunningly informed. EcoCult is brash, beautiful and unapologetic. EcoCult loves anything local, sustainable, eco-friendly, handmade—when it’s done well. EcoCult finds finger wagging a bore. Instead, EcoCult celebrates all that is awesome, delicious, edgy, well-designed and fun in sustainability. And EcoCult believes the human experience more authentic when it’s green.

GoGreenRide at AdWeek

Advertising Week is the world’s premier annual gathering of marketing and communications leaders each year in New York City. With over 200 events, Advertising Week 2013 was a hybrid of inspiring thought leadership featuring the world’s best and brightest with engaging special events which galvanize targeted constituencies. Advertising Week draws from the client, media and broader cultural communities with a laser focus on key business drivers which shape and influence the global industry.

Not only were we able to be a transportation partner for AdWeek, our CEO, Yamandou Alexander, had the chance to share a bit about GoGreenRide's mission and history at the Huffington Post Stage.

Event Recap: TechStyle NYFW

GoGreenRide was part of NYFW13 through an awesome partnership with TechStyle Lounge, a two-day oasis that saw the downtown House of Bumble transform over 5,000 square feet into a well-appointed, well-connected, unforgettable style experience, capturing a targeted fashion-meets-tech audience with sophisticated tastes and influential eyes for style.

GoGreenRide transported some of the VIPs to/from the lounge and ensured that the retreat element of the lounge carried over into a wonderfully comfortable ride in our vehicles, which of course, allowed our fashionistas to stay connected with our iPads and free wifi, as well as hydrated, with our complimentary Voss water. Best part: time saved from not having to hail a cab was definitely put to good use!

We were thrilled to be amongst so many other great sponsors including, Altar Herbal Martini, Pour Le Monde Parfums, Brooklyn Roasting Company, Popchips and The V Spot Cafe.
