GoGreenRide and The Rise of Congo Event

On March 19th, GoGreenRide was enthused to provide transportation for some of the wonderful talent that helped the Georges Malaika Foundation host their 2nd annual New York City fundraiser: The Rise of Congo: Empowering Through Education”, a New York Reception celebrating Congolese culture, fashion and music on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in the Gansevoort Hotel.

The event was hosted by comedian Eddie Kadi and featured an exclusive performance by the legendary Lokua Kanza, music by DJ Hardy Indiigo, photography by Richard Foulser, art by Congolese painters, jewelry and fashion by talented African designers.

Guest speakers included former prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Luis Moreno Ocampo; Kara Gerson, Executive Director of the Voss FoundationJoe Whinney, CEO of Theo Chocolate, who has just collaborated with Ben Affleck to produce a fair trade organic chocolate bar using Congolese cocoa; and fitness expert Holly Rillinger from Flywheel, who spoke about her recent trip to the GMF school to create a sports program.

Our drivers had a great time providing service from Newark airport, LaGuardia and JFK airport, as well as, from hotels to the NYC venue, to the talented guests and performers of the night. Noella Coursaris Musunka (seen above) was taken to the studios of Fox 5's Good Day New York. We congratulate her and her foundation for their work!
